Disclaimer

CookieLint is a developer tool. It bundles a consent management platform (CMP), a coverage scanner, and a dashboard for managing per-site banner configuration and consent receipts. It runs the strategy you configure and records what users decide.

CookieLint is not a regulator, a law firm, or legal counsel. The product does not certify that any particular deployment meets a specific legal standard. The content of the dashboard, the scanner output, and any banner copy presented here or in the documentation is informational and may be incomplete or out of date. Before relying on it for a regulated context, please consult qualified counsel familiar with the regimes that apply to your business.

The coverage scanner inspects cookies, storage, and network calls observed on the pages it visits. Findings are heuristic. Words like "potential" and "may be flagged by" reflect that uncertainty. Scan results are not evidence of compliance or non-compliance with any law: a clean scan does not prove a site meets any regime, and a finding does not prove it falls short. The scanner sees a sample of pages, with a sample of user agents, at a moment in time.

CookieLint includes strategies for GDPR, ePrivacy, LGPD, APPI, PIPEDA, and CCPA. Regimes are interpreted from publicly available guidance, which evolves. We update strategies when guidance changes, but we cannot guarantee that any deployed configuration matches the latest interpretation published by every regulator at every moment.

Consent receipts captured by CookieLint are signed and stored to support audit workflows. They are intended as a record of what was offered to a user and what the user decided. They are not a legal opinion, and presenting them as evidence in a dispute is the operator's responsibility, not CookieLint's.

CookieLint integrates with infrastructure providers. Their availability, security posture, and data residency are governed by their own terms. CookieLint's DPA describes the boundaries between us and the data controllers we serve.

CookieLint is provided on an as-is basis, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. The full terms of service and DPA take precedence over this page where they conflict. Where you use CookieLint without a paid subscription, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the product is capped at the amounts you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for unpaid use is typically zero. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, personal injury, or death, or any statutory consumer rights that apply to you.

CookieLint ApS is registered in Denmark. This disclaimer and any non-contractual obligations arising from it are governed by the laws of Denmark, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The Danish courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this disclaimer. Nothing in this section deprives you of any mandatory consumer protections granted by the law of your country of residence.

The English-language version of this disclaimer is the legally binding text. Where we publish translations and a conflict arises between the translated and English versions, the English version prevails.
